Convention Details
Vendor Area
Interest is high among our many vendors to participate, so come ready to buy. There will be a special vendor reception on Thursday evening to welcome them to the convention and give our Full Registrants and LSBF members a chance to get a first look at all the material, pots, and supplies. Come join us for a sneak peek and enjoy light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
Auction
There will be a live auction on Saturday evening after our meal. As in years past, we want to encourage everyone to bring trees for sale with a value of $100 or more. Only LSBF club members will be allowed to sell trees but everyone attending can buy. We will accept cash and credit cards. A portion of the proceeds goes to LSBF to help fund future visiting artist tours.
Exhibit Area
The Bonsai Society of Dallas will have an exhibit area with many beautiful bonsai displays. There will be docent led tours at specific hours as well as a critique by a guest artist. We would like to invite you to display your bonsai trees, companion plants, suiseki, or other display items in our exhibit area. Bringing stands, scrolls, or other pieces to compliment your display would be much appreciated. All material must be at the hotel by Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. Please indicate on your registration form if you intend to bring a tree or material for display.
Raffles
As with all LSBF conventions, a very fun part is our many raffle drawings. This is a great way to pick up wonderful bonsai related material for a fraction of its value. This is also our major fund raiser to help offset the cost of the convention so please consider donating generously – both in material to be raffled and also by buying many chances to win! Raffle drawings will be held twice a day, with the final drawing on Sunday. Be sure to join the fun!
Workshops
Last but not least are the wonderful workshops and demonstrations we have planned by our renowned guest artists. Please check out the details further in this package. See the workshop material »
