Display Your Bonsai!
This year we are planning on changing the show format to a semi-formal display. The tables will be sectioned into individual spaces for two point, three point, and four point display.
Saunders Boxwood
Ten inches high and average 1/3/4 inches diameter trunk. This workshop will be given by Shane Cary. The Saunders is a sport of the kingsville and reportedly grows significantly faster than the standard Kingsville.
Lavender Star (Grewia caffra)
This workshop will be given by Suthin Sukosolvisit. The Lavender Star is tropical with lavender star-shaped flowers. 3/4" trunk and 15 inches tall.
Chinese Quince
The Chinese Quince workshop will be given by Boon Manakitivipart. The material is generally 13 inches tall and have 2-3 inch trunks.
Catlin elm
The Catlin elm workshop will be given by John Miller.
Chinese Juniper (var. Itoigawa)
The Itoigawa juniper workshop will be given by Suthin Sukosolvisit. The material is approximately 12 – 13 inches tall.
Japanese Boxwood
The Japanese Boxwood workshop will be given by Marco Invernizzi. This variety of boxwood is a hardy, dense shrub, which tolerates heat, humidity, and nematodes better than most boxwoods. These trees were collected by the Bonsai Society of Dallas over 10 years ago and have been under the care of John Miller. Size: average 24" - 28" tall, 2" - 4" trunk diameter.
