The Smith's Ashe juniper

The Ashe juniper is most commonly found in the Hill Country of Texas. It is very draught tolerant and disease resistant. The wood is very strong and is used as fence posts and furniture. The foliage can be very similar to the itoigawa variety of Shimpaku. The convention logo tree is an example of Ashe juniper bonsai. This Ashe juniper was collected 6 years ago and is well established. It will be part of the live auction at the convention.
